Meryl P.

Meryl earned her Bachelor of Science in biology and forensic science from the University of Toronto. After a few years traveling in Europe and falling in love with teaching, Meryl returned to Canada to complete her Bachelor of Education at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education. After graduating, Meryl moved to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to teach chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science and health at a local international school. After four years of learning, growing, and traveling in the Dominican Republic, Meryl moved to Lima, Peru, with her 8 month old son and husband, where she currently lives and teaches IB biology, grade 9 science and design science.

Meryl discovered her appreciation for the power of personalized learning after graduating from university when she worked as a math and science specialist at a tutoring center. Connecting with students and making content accessible and relatable are at the core of Meryl’s teaching philosophy. Meryl’s approach is always highly student-centered and responsive to individual needs. She is happy to tutor in science, algebra, French, her mother tongue, as well as executive function coaching.

When she isn’t teaching, Meryl enjoys water coloring, exercising, and trying out new restaurants in Lima with her husband! She discovered art and painting during the pandemic and loves how it brings her calm and stimulates her creativity.
