Megan I.

Megan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Scripps College with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Dance. She is currently pursuing an Ed.M. in Human Development and Education and school counseling licensure at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Given her passion for psychology and education, she takes a holistic approach to serving the whole student, as she strongly believes that one’s overall well-being is crucial to both academic and personal success.

Megan began tutoring and teaching in 2014, mentoring students from preschool to high school in English, mathematics, science, social studies, Japanese, and social-emotional skills. During her undergraduate career, Megan worked as a course assistant, supporting the academic development of prospective psychology majors, and a research assistant in a memory lab. She also taught abroad in Japan, empowering high schoolers through lessons on goal setting, identity formation, and exploration of values.

Megan believes that finding a strong individualized study/work approach is crucial to one’s academic success and overall work-life balance. There is no “one-size-fits-all,” which is why she will work closely with each student to tailor their tutoring experience to meet their unique needs. In doing so, she also prioritizes the importance of building relationships with her students that foster trust and acceptance, which in turn promotes overall academic progress and success.

When she is not studying or developing counseling interventions, Megan can be found dancing in the studio, exploring the city, or working on the novel she is co-authoring with her best friend.
